We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. We will post any updated version on the Site and update the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy regularly.
What Personal Information We Collect
The type of personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us.
Information you provide directly:
- When you order: your name, email address, delivery address, and billing details, entered on the Stripe checkout page.
- Order details: the products you bought, the amounts, the date, and the confirmation of your payment. We never receive or store your full card number.
- When you subscribe: your chosen delivery frequency and the status of your subscription.
- When you use the contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and your message.
- When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.
Certain features of our Services require you to provide specific information. You may choose not to provide this information; however, this may limit your ability to use those features.
Information collected automatically:
- Technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, which are processed by our hosting provider to deliver the Site and keep it secure.
- Information stored in your browser: your cart and your chosen delivery country are kept in your browser’s local storage so that the shop works. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us until you check out.
The Site does not use advertising or audience analytics trackers. Our payment provider may set its own cookies on its checkout pages, as described in its own privacy policy.
Why We Use Your Personal Information, and on What Basis
- To process your orders, deliver them, and manage your subscription (performance of the contract).
- To send you order receipts and answer your questions (performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in serving our customers).
- To detect and prevent fraud and keep the Site secure (our legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting and tax records and comply with other legal obligations (legal obligation).
- To send you our newsletter, if you signed up for it (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
Who We Share Your Information With
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run the Services, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe, which processes payments and manages subscriptions, and may also use some data for fraud prevention and its own legal obligations.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the Site and delivers it securely to your browser.
- Resend, which relays the messages sent through our contact form and newsletter sign-up to our mailbox.
- Our email provider, which hosts our mailbox and the messages you send us.
- Carriers and postal services, which receive your name and delivery address to deliver your order.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts of the Site and therefore receives your IP address when your browser loads them.
- Our accountant and the authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. In that case, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses, as applicable.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and invoice data are kept for the period required by accounting and tax law. Messages sent through the contact form are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise these rights, write to contact.sunshinecoffee@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be) or the authority of the country where you live.
